River City Blaskapelle

The River City Blaskapelle is a 25 member brass and woodwind band based in West Bend, Wisconsin that performs authentic German music, also known as Blasmusik. The group was formed in 1986 by several members of West Bend's community band who had a profound interest in performing music of their German heritage.

The band's music is imported from Germany with many selections in their library recorded by such famous German brass bands as Ernst Mosch, Neue Bohmische Blasmusik, Robert Payer and Slavko Avsenik.

The band's popularity has grown over the past 22 years while performing at various church picnics, German Fests and Oktoberfest celebrations including the United German Societies of Milwaukee Oktoberfest and West Bend Germanfest.

The River City Blaskapelle, West Bend’s own German Community Band, is proud to present its new CD recording “Gruß an die Berge” (Greetings from the Mountains) in recognition of the band’s recent trip to Germany and Austria.
